Blink

Plumb | October 9th, 2007

When it comes to Christian rocker chicks, none have been doing it for as long and as well as Plumb. Formerly the moniker of a band, Plumb now refers to former lead singer Tiffany Arbuckle. Plumb has had an impressive career in Christian music, offering a very unique blend of electronic, pop, and rock in her music. However, come 2007, we have a very different Plumb than the one that debuted in the mid 90's, and if her latest release Blink has anything to say about it, we are all going to like where Plumb's going.

Blink is entirely a concept album. A noticeable change in Plumb's style is apparent as the CD consists wholly of lullabies sung specifically to her two children, Solomon and Oliver. Even though the songs are written from a loving Mother's perspective, many of the songs can translate into how our Heavenly Father views his children. “In My Arms” conveys this perhaps the most as Plumb declares, Clouds will rage and / Storms will race in / But you will be safe in my arms / Rains will pour down / Waves will crash around / But you will be safe in my arms.

The great thing about Blink is it does not try to be anything except what it was made to be. There is not a single aggressive song, sound, or beat on the entire album. It is a CD composed of lullabies. Each song has a very tranquil sound of piano, guitar or electronic elements, simply being powered by Plumb's vocals and evident sincerity with each lyric.

Included in the track listing are the hymns “God Will Take Care Of You” and “Children Of The Heavenly Father.” Both feel right at home on Blink. Also included is a remake of “Sleep” which was previously recorded on Plumb's Chaotic Resolve album.

The album flows beautifully from start to finish and is an entire highlight itself. The album definitely serves its primary purpose of being a lullaby album, great for nodding off to sleep. So, it's probably best not to listen while driving. Perfect for a rainy day, a pick me up, or for your Mom, Plumb has truly delivered an excellent album.

Music Testing

We rely on you, the listener, to tell us what you like so we can deliver the best music possible. Our identified core artists are those that are consistently ranked highly by a survey performed each year. If a particular song tests well, it is played with more frequency. If a song tests poorly, it is removed. Your feedback as a listener is crucial to us.

At Resound, music testing is essential to our philosophy of operation. It's your station, so you should pick the music. Every month, you will have an opportunity to participate in our in-studio music test and receive a free candy bar for your help. If you are interested in being a part of our online music testing group which will launch later this semester, email our Music Director and let us know!
